The PEI Early Learning and Child Care Registry (ELCC Registry) is PEI’s only child care registry. Signing up for the Registry gives you access to the waiting lists of licensed early learning and child care centres across PEI and will increase your family’s chances of finding quality child care.

There are many things to think about when choosing a licensed early learning and child care provider such as the type of child care that meets your family's needs, the hours that your family will need child care, and how your family feels during your first visit with the centre. The sooner you begin your search for child care, the more options you will have.

Please note that the service being provided is a central way to become familiar with licensed early learning and child care centres across Prince Edward Island, as well as a central way to register on various waiting lists. The Registry does not create available space, but provides an easy way to be included on Island waiting lists.

The PEI Early Learning and Child Care Registry is funded by the Government of Prince Edward Island through the Canada-Prince Edward Island Early Learning and Child Care Agreement. The bilateral agreement is another step to help ensure that Prince Edward Island’s children get the best start in life and have the opportunity to reach their full potential.

Helpful Tips

The PEI Early Learning and Child Care Registry does not replace a personal visit to licensed child care centres. Please visit centres to meet with staff in person, ask questions, and discuss your family’s needs.
