Steps to get Started
- Click here to create your account! You will need your contact information, your child’s name and age, and the date you need child care. You must also include the contact information for a secondary contact, should a centre not be able to reach you when space becomes available for your child.
- Use the search tool to search and sign up for the waiting lists of child care centres that fit your family’s needs. Easily search centres by name, type, or location.
- Visit the centres you sign up for and talk to the supervisors and staff who work there. This will help you find out if the child care centre is a good fit for your family.
- Remember to keep your account active by signing in at least once every 90 days. Please update your account if there are any changes to your child care needs or contact information.
- Child care centres will contact you when space is available for your child. Even if you accept the space for your child, you can still stay on the waiting lists of other centres. To do this, log in to your account and reactivate your applications.
The PEI Early Learning and Child Care Registry does not replace a personal visit to licensed child care centres. Please visit centres to meet with staff in person, ask questions, and discuss your family's needs.

Yes! To keep your account active and stay on the waiting lists for centres, you must log in to your account at least once every 90 days. Checking your account also allows you to add or remove any centres from your list as your family’s needs change.
Yes! You can easily register to multiple centres. Once you conduct a search by centre name, type, or location, click Apply to Centre on the search results in the map or list view. Please note that centres may use a variety of methods for registration. You are encouraged to contact the centres of your choice to ensure you register to their waiting list using their preferred method.
Yes! You are encouraged to register to waiting lists as soon as possible. To request care for any date in the future, simply specify a date in the Care Needed field. In your Account Management Area, select your child's profile and click Modify these details. You have the option to request care immediately or select the month, day, and year when you will need care. To save your changes, click Update Information.
No – signing up for this registry gives you access to the waiting lists of licensed early learning and child care centres across PEI and increases your family’s chances of finding child care. However, it does not guarantee space when you need it.
Yes! If you'd like to share important information about your child with the centres, select your child's profile in your Account Management Area, click Modify these details, and add your notes in the Additional Info field. To save your changes, click Update Information.
Yes! You are encouraged to arrange visits with centres and talk to the supervisors and staff who work there. This will help you find out if the centre is a good fit for your family. Take along the ECDA Guide to Quality Child Care for tips on what to look for and questions to ask.
Yes! The centre will phone or email the Primary Contact on your child's account when space becomes available. If the centre cannot reach the Primary Contact within a reasonable amount of time, they will phone or email the Secondary Contact(s). If the centre receives no response, they will offer the space to the next child on their list.
No – the waiting lists for each centre are confidential and not available to the public.
Yes! First, select your child's profile in your Account Management Area. In their registration list, click Remove Application next to the centre that no longer suits your family's needs.
The centre will contact you by phone, text, or email to inform you that space has become available for your child. They will request that you contact them at your earliest convenience to confirm your start date. If you do not accept their offer, the centre will offer the space to the next child on their list. If you change your mind after declining the offer, you will have to re-register at the bottom of their list. If you have any questions or concerns before accepting or declining a space, please contact the centre directly.
Yes! When you accept a centre's offer, your child’s name is automatically removed from all other waiting lists. However, if you'd like to stay on additional lists, select your child's profile in your Account Management Area and click Reactivate Child on Other Waiting Lists. You will go back to being in the same place on the other lists. You are encouraged to revise this list to ensure the other centres still meet your family’s needs.
Yes! The PEI ELCC Registry is fully compatible with smartphones and tablets.
The registry sends automatic emails and text messages with important reminders – such as when you have to log in to keep your account active or when a centre offers you a space. Please ensure that your contact information is correct and that you have access to both your phone and email while on parental leave. If your contact information changes, please update your account right away. If a centre would like to contact you directly, they will phone or email you.
